Shooting Ranges: Target for Politicians and Building One With Safety in Mind

Apparently around the country anti-firearm politicians are using the indirect approach of their agenda to counter the Second Amendment and do what their proposed failed laws cannot do – make it so it is increasingly more difficult for gun owners to practice on ranges, both private and public. Rachel Alexander wrote an article published by Townhall concerning an historical gun range that has been politically and legally attacked for some time in Washington state, at least sixteen years. Rachel is the editor of the Intellectual Conservative and grew up in Kitsap County, Washington, so is familiar with the county's vendetta against this particular gun range.

One of them in Illinois occurred when stray bullets damaged a neighbor's home while firing on a private shooting range. In this case, it is important for anyone wishing to have a private range on their property or already have one to know the best procedures and construction to keep a firing range safe, especially from stray bullets.

The humane method of capital punishment, the death sentence, has been jeopardized because the European Union issued restrictions making it harder to obtain drugs used in lethal injections. It is part of the protest against capital punishment in the United States by members of the EU.

Current laws dictate that if lethal injections are not available, executions will be conducted with lethal gas; but the state has no working gas chamber and the maintenance of one is too costly. Consideration of bringing back electrocution was also deemed too costly.

Geoshooting: An Addition to Defense Firearm Training and Sport Shooting

Geoshooting is a new outdoor sport that combines skills in navigating with a GPS and target practice. Someone gives you a set of coordinates, which you plug in to your GPS and go to each of the coordinates to find a target which your fire at and hit. It is an offshoot of a navigation sport called geocaching, where coordinates are given to find “treasure” or significant landmarks. Wisconsin Legislature Passes Firing Range Protection Bill

Wisconsin Senate Bill 527 has passed the state assembly and now awaits Governor Walker's signature to be enforced. It was created to protect firing ranges from draconian zoning ordinances or laws regulating the discharge of firearms and protect owners of such ranges from liability; which promotes firing ranges, set up in a safe manner, be available for sport shooting events, law enforcement practice, and citizens to keep proficient in self defense firearms.

Governor Walker and folks in Wisconsin's legislature have been diligent in protecting Wisconsin US citizens' Second Amendment rights, as well as standing up to trade unions that has interfered with the right for citizens to work and employers to hire without joining a trade union.
