FBI Alert: ISIL Attacks on Blogs

In an FBI alert, it reports that there is a:
Continuous Web site defacements are being perpetrated by individuals sympathetic to the Islamic State in the Levant (ISIL) a.k.a. Islamic State of Iraq and al-Shams (ISIS). The defacements have affected Web site operations and the communication platforms of news organizations, commercial entities, religious institutions, federal/state/local governments, foreign governments, and a variety of other domestic and international Web sites. Although the defacements demonstrate low-level hacking sophistication, they are disruptive and often costly in terms of lost business revenue and expenditures on technical services to repair infected computer systems.

FBI Public Service Announcement: Cyber Criminals Using Fake Government Emails

Victims report that the unsolicited e-mail sender is a representative of the IC3. The e-mails state that a criminal report was filed on the victim’s name and social security number and legal papers are pending. Scammers impersonate an IC3 employee to increase credibility and use threats of legal action to create a sense of urgency. Victims are informed they have one to two days from the date of the complaint to contact the scammers. Failure to respond to the e-mail will result in an arrest warrant issued to the victim.

Wanted for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and murder charges.
An alleged member of the North Side Redondo street gang, is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder of a man in Redondo Beach, California on June 21, 2013. Ortega allegedly shot the man multiple times as the man left a family member's home, then fled in a silver Chrysler 300 which was found abandoned five blocks from the scene.

Senator Leland Yee was arrested on March 26th, the affidavit filed on March 14th, 2014 with charges that violate Title 18 US Code Section 1343 and 1346 for honest services wire fraud allegedly taking bribes from Well Tech, Ghee Kung Tong, and for Medical Marijuana Legislation from undercover FBI agents in return for promises of official action. In addition to those charges, this gun control (confiscation) advocate who won the Gun Violence Prevention Honor Roll award, he was charged with Title 18 US Code Sections 371, 922(a))1) and 922(1) for conspiracy to deal firearms without a license and to illegally import firearms from the Philippines by setting up an international weapons trafficking deal with undercover agents. Lee accepted tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions and cash payments to provide introductions, help a client get a contract and influence legislation.

Aircraft Laser Pointing is Dangerous and a Felony and Animals Can Be Fun

The FBI has begun a program for deterring people from pointing lasers at aircraft, which is a felony punishable by five years in jail, or more if the laser shooting person causes an air crash.
Ron Hosko, assistant director of the FBI Criminal Investigative Division stated:
Aiming a laser pointer at an aircraft is a serious matter and a violation of federal law. It is important that people understand that this is a criminal act with potentially deadly repercussions.
The program includes a campaign to educate the public about the dangers of “lasing” that will operate for 60 days in twelve FBI field offices where laser strikes against aircraft have been occurring most frequently. Part of the program is the offering of a reward up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of any individual who intentionally aims a laser at an aircraft.

Crime Fighters Report: Two More Food Stamp Fraud Cases

FBI reports that two more retailers have been arrested for food stamp fraud. Both incidents occurred in Baltimore, Maryland. Last year it was reported that food stamp fraud has been on the rise, and in October 2013, Fox News reported that even Craiglist was the avenue of some perpetrators in order to turn food stamps into case with the SNAP program
