Recall: Taurus Curve Pistol

Taurus has issued a recall for the Curve pistol that has no bearing on safety or quality. It seems that some pistols left their facility without the caliber marking, required by federal firearm manufacturing  laws.

If your Curve pistol does not have the caliber marking, contact Taurus and they will arrange for you to ship it and corrected, and also offers a free T-shirt for your inconvenience.

Taurus has come up with an innovative pistol in .380 ACP that is designed for conceal carry to fit the curve of the body in concealment – the Taurus Curve model. Featured at the 2015 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, it has a smooth curved grip-frame that gives it a space-age look and features an integrated LaserLyte LED Light and Laser combination system built in. It resembles the pistol models found in the Mass Effect futuristic role-playing game, for those familiar with the EA-Origin game series.

When manufacturers decided there needed to be ammunition between .22 WMR and .223 caliber, the .17 HMR was born. The .22 WMR was produced since 1959 and magnums became more popular than the old standby .22LR because it fired at a higher pressure and its bullet was jacketed instead of soft lead. However, even the .22 WMR was a pain to load into auto-loading, magazine fed rifles, so Hornady produced the .17 HMR.
