Collectors Pick: Smith and Wesson Victory Revolver

[Click photo to enlarge]
The Smith & Wesson Victory revolver in .38-caliber was produced for use in World War II.
S&W produced 571,629 Victory revolvers for allied countries, while less than 40,000 were made for use by US troops. The first production was the M&P style revolver chambered in the British .38/200 cartridge as part of the Lend Lease Program and sent to England, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. By the time the United States entered the war after the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7th, 1941; S&W added a “V” for victory in front of the serial number. Thus, it became known as the Victory model S&W.

Minimum Wage, Unlimited Government and Scoundrels

The White House has wanted to raise the minimum wage, so the Democrat-controlled Senate started putting together a bill, which would raise the hourly federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 over a 30-month period. It got shot down with a vote of 54-42 not in favor and 60 votes for closure. Only one Republican senator, Bob Corker (TN) voted yes with the Democrats. It is because the problem with the economy is not the minimum wage, which working folks make more than that anyway, unless they are on a government work program. Fast food establishments start their burger flippers at at least $8.00 per hour.

When Accused and Guilty - Just Cry Racist

Wherever it Originates and Permeates
According to bias/racial sources, President BH Obama is being mistreated because he is “black”; disregarding the myriad of scandal that permeates his administration with himself enacting moves against the Constitution of the United States.
Any African American, an American with dark pigmentation who is a conservative and/or a constitutionalist and who seeks reformation of our government back to the way the framers intended and want the United States and its society to become great again – are “Uncle Toms”.
One would think that all of this would have passed into history, but it is the prime factor that continues issues and problems with racism. Americans like Allen West, Star Parker, Lloyd Marcus, Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, Alan Keyes, and much more. Truthful criticism and fact-based accusations are immediately answered by calling that person a racist – if they are not of dark skin pigmentation. If they are, they look upon the critic as an “Uncle Tom”, a “slave” to the “White” system.

Slow Cooked Pulled Chicken

People might think the microwave is the greatest modern item in the kitchen, but to me its the CrockPot slow-cooker or any brand of that breed.
Many folks enjoy pulled-pork sandwiches, but have you used the “other” white meat – chicken?
The drier white meat of that common poultry that provides meat and eggs, holds the tangy sauce well and the flavor is great smoked on a grill.
Most recipes call for tossing raw chicken or chicken pieces sauteed and then cooked for hours in some type of bottled barbecue sauce. It's okay, but let's face it, sometimes scratch is best.

Boehner and GOP RINO Elite Need to Be Shown the Door Out

JD and wife, Aimee
J.D. Winteregg is running for Congress to take the place of Boehner as Speaker of the House – because Boehner: (1) is on the amnesty political bandwagon as a solution to illegal alien problem, (2) voted to fund Obamacare, (3) suspended debt ceiling and worked WITH Democrats to increase taxes and spending instead of against, (4) supports members of Congress to keep benefits like political retirement program that should not be afforded to anyone holding public office – they are NOT employees, they were elected (who gets retirement funds after eight years?);

Bundy Neighbor Rancher Tells What Really Happened with BLM

"This is What the Taxpayers Are Paying For"

Yep, where is the incentive to work? She has nicer clothes than some people that work.
Socialist welfare state rewards people like this while the productive foot the bill.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money. -- Lady Margaret Thatcher (1925-2013)

I am an American

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all … The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic … There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else. [Speech at Carnegie Hall, Knights of Columbus, Columbus Day 1915]

Supporting Your Local Sheriff - Constitutional Sheriff

TV Sheriff - Andy Griffin
Actions of certain police departments give law enforcement a bad name, and it also feeds the concern that America is becoming a police state. I have always supported local law enforcement, working with them and not against them; especially the county sheriff. The county sheriff is a unique breed of law enforcement because they are usually the first to ensure that local folks constitutional rights are protected and will stand up against any state or federal authority who tries to supersede anyone's rights. They can do that because their uniqueness, in part, is because they are elected By the People of that county. The sheriff and US Marshal of the Old West made that law enforcement entity famous with names like Wyatt Earp, John Hicks Adams, Charlie Bassett, Morgan Earp, Bat Masterson, and much more.

Weapons of Choice: Choosing a Shotgun as a Survival Firearm

The choice of having a shotgun as a main survival weapon along with a handgun can be a good thing if you choose to have a 12-gauge. The shotgun is versatile in that birdshot for small game, buckshot for personal close-range home defense, and rifled slugs for hunting larger game, like deer. Of course, that also depends upon the terrain in which you must survive. Out in the western plain, desert and mountain states, a high caliber rifle is best because of the distance between you and the hunting target. In a heavily wooded area or swampland, the shotgun is great for hunting.

Sightmark Optic Solution

Sightmark has come up with a mil-spec laser light that is more affordable than the military models and still provide quality laser sighting. In addition, it is a multi-function accessory that is tactical and practical offering both laser and flashlight for the AR rifles. It is called the LoPro Combo. Looking at the photo you can see it is built to be rugged ...

Five Considerations When Choosing a Survival Rifle

Wild Boar shot with 5.56mm
Survival manuals are available in abundance, but the ones I recommend are the military manuals published by the US Armed Forces that have been tested under actual conditions as well as covering all climate situations wherever you may be. There are, of course, civilian survival manuals that extensively cover wilderness survival that can be a valuable addition to your library.

Theories and choices of what weapon to have handy for survival situations is also in abundance with many videos at YouTube to choose from. I would prefer those that either trained in survival conditions in the military or actual woodsmen who help retain wilderness survival methods and situations that date back to the earliest days in North America by the French trappers and mountain men of the colonial period in US history. Methods from both can be useful and an overall knowledge of how to meet survival needs in various situations, terrain and climatic conditions.

From the Foxhole: Benghazi Report 2014

This report is based upon the Interim Progress Report and circumstances involving the attack upon the US embassy, nearby CIA annex) and personnel, to include Ambassador Christopher Stevens. Information was also obtained from the analysis by Judicial Watch, January 2013.

Bundy Incident Not Waco - But ...

The main issue, at least with me about the Bundy ranch in Nevada, is that the Feds used armed action instead of just going through legal process and putting a lean on his property. They did not have to steal his cows nor send agents to storm his ranch. Americans are sensitive about that since incidents like the Elian Gonzalez case in Miami (General Reno & Clinton), Ruby Ridge incident [George H.W. Bush] and Waco, Texas. [Clinton was president with General Reno as US Attorney General].

Amish and Amish Potato Salad

Amish Countryside by Carl Velente
The Pioneer Stew mentioned in the Chuckwagon article is based on an Old West recipe that “Cookies” called son-of-a-bitch stew, but I gave it a more polite name; but this recipe is the real McCoy in name and ingredients. Before I get to the recipe, I would like to provide a brief background of the Amish Americans.

Good News from US Supreme Court , And Other Stuff

Good news for constitutionalists from US Supreme Court … Justices decide states can end racial preferences without violating Constitution. The justices did their job when they ruled in favor of the Michigan court ruling that affirmative action in that state will be banned in cases concerning college students. The 6th US Circuit Court declared that the act was unconstitutional, and so it went to the US Supreme Court who abide by their oath of office to let the 6th US Circuit Court know they are wrong. In a nation conceived in liberty and justice for all – how can government declare that certain citizens require elevation above other citizens when it comes to equal opportunity. The qualifications for anything, be it college or a job should be solely upon the qualifications of the individual – regardless of gender, age, race, creed, or religious beliefs. It is and always has been against even the Civil Rights Act – which declared that people could not be discriminated against because of the aforementioned.
Now I hope the justices do their job concerning the Hobby Lobby US Supreme Court case
Thomas Sowell writes a great article, as usual entitled The High Cost of Liberalism. It has to do with the high cost of liberalism (progressive socialism), and not just referring to funding costs.
And speaking of high cost, even Obama is wincing over his student-debt forgiveness program. As predicted all types of scams would occur and the cost of funding education has increased about 43%. Keith Koffler provides a case study at his website.

You May Be a Jihadist, ...

You may be a Jihadist,
If you morally object to alcoholic beverages, but think nothing of growing poppy for heroin and profit; you may be a Jihadist.
If you can afford a $3,000 machine gun and a $5,000 rocket launcher, but cannot afford shoes; you may be a Jihadist.
If you have more wives than teeth; you may be a Jihadist.
If you wipe your anus with your bare hand, but consider pork to be unclean; you may be a Jihadist.
If you think vests come in two styles: bulletproof and suicide; you may be a Jihadist.
If you consider television dangerous and a tool of Satan, but carry explosives and weapons in your clothing; you may be a Jihadist.

Letter to Hobby Lobby CEO and Reminder About AARP

As you know, Hobby Lobby has taken their case against Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) to the US Supreme Court because the healthcare system does not allow opt-out clauses for things like contraceptives. The business is family run and are clearly Christians. They have been supported by the Church leadership, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, who has stated:
Is the ability to buy contraceptives, that are now widely available — my Lord, all you have to do is walk into a 7-11 or any shop on any street in America and have access to them — is that right to access those and have them paid for, is that such a towering good that it would suffocate the rights of conscience?

Rule of Law Comes From Constitution - Not Agency Regulations

Progressive hypocrites make me ill, like the blogger that writes for Newshounds, which focuses upon Fox News and not the corporate, political media in general. The author, simply known as “Ellen” - has declared:
We watch Fox so you don't have to!
Meanwhile, media like NYT, MSNBC, et cetera reports on news that will not interfere with their personal ideology, and literally, is the mouthpiece for progressive government instead of the eyes and ears of the people to help keep track of government and constitutional law. The media that stands against corruption is persecuted instead.

Great Dane Rescue presents:

Property Rights Is Important Like Other Rights

Maggie's Notebook is keeping abreast of the federal land grab issue and provides a map that shows how much land in each state has been commandeered by federal government. Note, that only 13% of land in Nevada state is privately owned. It looks like Alaska has the least private land in the Union.

Chuck Wagons, Trail Drives and American Traditions

Deadwood 1877
The American West is not just a major part of American history, but it remains a special culture that is admired in certain European countries, like in Denmark country & western music combined with its unique dancing style, or in Germany and Italy. Indeed, there are cowboy ranches still in existence in Italy.

The staple food for a hearty meal for mountain men, pioneers and cowboys had been stew.At the end of this article is a Pioneer Stew recipe.

Bedouin: Nomadic Warriors

According to the Wikipedia, Bedouin is:
...derived from the Arabic badawî, a generic name for a desert-dweller, is a term generally applied to Arab nomadic pastoralist groups, who are found throughout most of the desert belt extending from the Atlantic coast of the Sahara via the Western Desert, Sinai, and Negev to the Arabian Desert. It is occasionally used to refer to non-Arab groups was well, notably the Beja of the African coast of the Red Sea.

History of Gun Control

Gun control is NOT for the good of the People; it is for the good of those operating government. It is good for tyrants who want control of the People by taking away means of their defense as well as the freedom to speak out against tyranny.
Firearm registration leads to firearm confiscation. It is a method of making it easier to find and confiscate firearms from lawful citizens – the beginning of the end to civil rights and liberties.

Finally a Semi-Auto, Self-Loading Rifle in .17-HMR That Works

When manufacturers decided there needed to be ammunition between .22 WMR and .223 caliber, the .17 HMR was born. The .22 WMR was produced since 1959 and magnums became more popular than the old standby .22LR because it fired at a higher pressure and its bullet was jacketed instead of soft lead. However, even the .22 WMR was a pain to load into auto-loading, magazine fed rifles, so Hornady produced the .17 HMR.

Weapons of Choice: SIG Sauer M11 and Other SIG Firearms

Most everyone is aware that the official US military handgun was changed from Colt M1911 (in service for more than 100 years) to the M9 manufactured by Beretta. In the civilian world, both firearms are popular, but Glock has upstaged them both. In competition against Glock, most popular caliber being the .40 caliber. Springfield Armory produced an excellent handgun in 9mm and .45 ACP.
One excellent pistol that does not seem to get the attention it deserves is the SIG Sauer P-series that was established in the 1970s. It is a firearm manufacturer where J.P. Sauer & Sohn of Germany combined with Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaft (SIG) of Switzerland. Two nations that produce quality manufactured products; matching Italian companies like Beretta, Uberti, and Benelli.
Colt would have retained its contract that has lasted many decades if it would have developed a double-action chambered for 9mm, which is the NATO standard ammunition for handguns.

divide et impera: Hatred and Division - Democrat Party Platform

The following was produced by Doug Ross - Biff Spackle with permission to reproduce here:
Ancient Romans knew the recipe for subjugating: divide et impera, which translates: "divide and conquer". Obama was a community organizer before he joined the Chicago Political Machine, which both use political tactics from Marxism and the infamous organizer, Saul D. Alinsky, which Obama could be seen carrying around Alinsky's book in his first months of office in 2009. Of course, Obama operates at his own level of the Alinsky Recipe.
Establishment Republicans do not get off the hook either, like Boehner, McCain, Graham as examples. We need Tea Party constitutionalists, either independent or true Republican. Good news: Michigan makes the 34th state to join the Constitutional Convention which means that that is enough for a two-thirds majority. I am Constitutional Convention Wisconsin Member #004. It is also a direct means to rid Americans of the intrusive, corrupt, and complicated income tax system as well as the feared and hated IRS. It is also a way to rid Americans of the so-called Affordable Care Act. It is a way to reestablish the Constitution that was created by the Founders in the first Constitutional Convention was in Philadelphia 1787, which insisted upon a government with limited powers where the central (federal) government delegated to state governments.

Fly Southwest Airlines

Flying today is not as enjoyable as it used to be, too often. TSA, overcrowding and other factors have helped towards that end. The following is a flight that would be memorable with the unique flight stewardess providing a lengthy and hilarious safety speech we may wish to hear before taking off. Pay attention because she speaks quickly.

PTSD: Another Political and Media Hype

In World War I it was called Shell Shock and was identified and addressed better than previous wars in the history of wars. That term continued throughout World War II and then Korean War.
Today, it is called Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD as an acronym. Simply it is when a person cannot deal with what they experienced and/or what they saw.

H.R. 2247: The Collectible Firearms Protection Act

M1 Garand rifles were loaned out to South Korea in the 1950s and then in the 1960s sold to the South Korean government. An importer, discovering that the 87, 310 M1 Garand and 770,160 M1 Carbines were no longer needed because South Korea produces and has updated their rifle inventory (M16), so tried to sell them to the importer who wanted to bring the historical rifles back to the US and sell them like the popular Mauser bolt-action rifle and other European historical-collectible rifles and handguns – like the German Luger.

A Clear and Real Danger: National Security

Invasion, as I wrote about on April 7th, is in the process and dangerous elements are not in some foreign land or across the seas in the desert nations of that part of the world. In the 1990s there was an attack and in 2001 a major attack.
Recently there was the Boston bomb massacre that must have took all the attention of the national media because on April 16th of last year, outside of San Jose, California there was an infrastructure attack made by a small armed squad.

Mexican-Cartel Invasion: This is NOT a Drill ...

Jeb Bush who is setting up to run for president in 2016 has claimed that immigrants coming into the United States illegally are acting our of love. Former Governor of Florida, Jeb is a living statement that America doesn't need any more of the Bush clan for president or any office in the federal government. Here is what was quoted via Townhall, pay attention to the part where he claims that crossing our border uninvited is NOT a felony, meaning that it is not against federal law.
The way I look at this is someone who comes to our country because they couldn't come legally, they come to our country because their family's dad who loves their children was worried that their children didn't have food on the table, and they wanted to make sure their family was intact. And they crossed the border because they had no other means to work to be able to provide for their family.

Fort Hood Shooting - Again

Not much to say about the Fort Hood shooting, the media has covered it extensively, except personal feeling of sadness and wondering what is going on with Fort Hood. What is going on in the US Army? Other armed forces personnel have not been involved in such heinous acts. This is beyond unsettling for those living in and around that US Army base. In 2009, an officer who was a supporter of the Islamic Jihad movement killed 13 people and wounded others. He now sits on death row waiting to be executed.

History of Dueling

Historians state that dueling goes back as far as the Roman period in history; if the Gladiatorial matches could be loosely considered to be a form of dueling. Indeed, the word duel comes from a Latin duellium that was translated into Middle English later in history. Literally it means war between two.

Optic Product Line-Up for 2014

MagPul modified AR-15
Scopes for the AR-15 [and M16] has come a long way, just as sniper scopes have improved since my days using the M24 US Army sniper rifle, a configured and tuned M14 made to fire semi-auto only until the new tech-advanced high end rifles arrived in the military inventory.

Weapons of Choice: Remington New Model R51

The Remington R1  line of pistols are works of art enhancing John Browning's invention of the Model 1911 available in several configurations like threaded barrel and the growing in popularity – the 1911-R1 Carry Commander and standard carry in .45 ACP. If you prefer 9mm, Model 1911-R1 is available for that also. The new R51 is a sub-compact designed for conceal carry folks.

Weapons of Choice: Kel-Tec KSG Shotgun

The Kel-Tec KSG has been around since 2011 and was featured in the Shot Show in 2013 in the Generation 2 series, as the video after this segment will provide live-fire demonstration by an expert. The KSG is one ugly bullpup firearm, but it is meant for no-nonsense tactical and/or home defense use, so they say. It holds 14 + 1, 12-GA rounds and no other (yet) shotgun is as short in its class. With an “eyes open” red-dot scope attached, like the AimPoint PRO, you can clear away targets rapidly, according to the manufacturer and Robert Farago at The Truth About Guns

Larry Vickers: TacTV Visits Russian Counter Terrorist Advance Training Course

Larry Vickers is one of the best tactical training experts one can find today. He travels about giving handgun and home defense courses, scheduled to be held in various parts of the country. April 12-13 he will be in York, Pennsylvania teaching 1911 operator course and in Richmond, California at the end of April for handgun and carbine training. His 3-day home defense class costs $900 – but to have his expertise and experience while participating in hands-on training is worth the cost. The cheapest course is the handgun course at $300, which he will be teaching on May 9th in Phoenix, Arizona. As you can see he travels extensively with various sponsors and hosts. He posts his schedule and course costs at his website.

Wild Bill for America - Internet Radio April 4th 2014

A big thanks to Wayne Cowles – a fellow patriot - sent me a message via Google Speak to inform me that Will Bill for America is broadcasting on the Internet on April 4th for one of his Into the Storm segments. Here is the details in his published video published about seven hours ago …

Wild Bill also has a website, simple, good to look at, and professional. Born and spending his life in the Colorado Rockies, Bill has served as both a Deputy Sheriff and a Deputy U.S. Marshal. He is a graduate of several academies that include the Federal Law Enforcement Academy and the U.S. Marshal's Academy. Prior to law enforcement he served in the US Marine Corps as a Corpsman.
In 2000, Bill went to Montana Bible College and from there served as a missionary security specialist in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Honduras, and West Africa. He has studied Islam in order to understand Jihadists in protecting missionaries from their attacks. Bill is one of the first patriots to joint the Tea Party movement that has grown since its inception and he participates by inspiring and speaking the truth and encouraging citizens to do the same. He has a page explaining his mission and goals toward a better America.

Warrior History: Japanese Samurai

samurai_05The legendary armored warrior of Japan, the Samurai, has played an important part of military history of Japan in the pre-industrial era. The Samurai warrior code and honor system known as Bushidō continued beyond the time when the samurai social class was abolished in 1876.
The word samurai means to serve and feudal war lords circa 7th century used conscription to develop a warrior class from the farming peasant class. Eventually it was organized to begin training from childhood and becoming a warrior class for life. The Samurai rose from peasant conscript warriors to an honorable and formidable professional warrior and became the upper class of society. Even after the Samurai were abolished in the 19th century, the weaponry and code of honor and character were continued in the training of martial arts.
