Minimum Wage, Unlimited Government and Scoundrels

The White House has wanted to raise the minimum wage, so the Democrat-controlled Senate started putting together a bill, which would raise the hourly federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 over a 30-month period. It got shot down with a vote of 54-42 not in favor and 60 votes for closure. Only one Republican senator, Bob Corker (TN) voted yes with the Democrats. It is because the problem with the economy is not the minimum wage, which working folks make more than that anyway, unless they are on a government work program. Fast food establishments start their burger flippers at at least $8.00 per hour.

That's what Richard Nixon said
Of course, Harry Reid and other Democrats immediately invoked the Koch brothers, billionaires that buy everything including Republicans. He should know all about unethical behavior. He falsely accuses people of what he does or his party does, for example his back-room deals. Between 2001 and 2005, Harry Reid collected $68,000 partners of Jack Abramoff. Harry and son is involved in land deal where BLM land was sold to Chinese company for much less than its value. The land, 9,000 acres, is appraised between $38.6 million and $29.4 million, offering it to Chinese company for $4.5 million. The family law firm is connected to casinos and hotels in Las Vegas.
All the politics aside, with the economy still in a slump and so many unemployed, so many that many have stopped looking – the bill would not have helped as Progressives try to make people believe. You know, like the Affordable Health Care Act will reduce the average family cost of health insurance by over $2,000, you can keep your health plan and doctor. The Congressional Budget Office study this year showed that such a minimum wage directive from federal government would cost between 500,000 and 1,000,000 jobs.
Heritage Foundation reported (2013):
Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Census Bureau show that most minimum-wage earners are young, part-time workers and that relatively few of them live below the poverty line. Their average family income is over $53,000 a year. A hike in the minimum wage primarily raises pay for suburban teenagers, not the working poor. If Congress and the President seriously want to help the working poor, they should look elsewhere.
With congressional elections occurring this year, this will be ammunition to run campaigns with usual lies. Which means if it passed they would win because such a move would be popular with the unsuspecting masses, educated in government-controlled schools, and since it didn't pass, they can blame their “attempt” to fix the economy failed because of Republicans and the likes of Koch brothers. Senator Reid says he is not afraid of losing his senatorial seat. He points at Koch, while his party collects from the likes of George Soros. Obama is also heavily connected to one of the most powerful and richest men on the globe. [See ACORN connections and Benghazi coverup of the coverup]
What would work is that the federal government limit itself according to the Constitution and reduce draconian, feudalistic regulations that make the cost of business skyrocket, thus their products cost more and can afford less employees; or in the case of small business, close the doors. A major help would be getting rid of the income tax system. The cost of the paperwork and administration alone would enable employers to provide cost-of-living wages for their valued employees and by increased productivity hire more.
The Obama job approval rating is well below 50%, holding steady at 44%; and James Woods is still speaking up and about the dysfunctional Obama, his comrades in Congress, and his administration. Meanwhile, this is all racism and nothing to do with job performance.
Here in Wisconsin, the voter identification law to prevent voter fraud – like voting twice and with the names of dead people, got shot down by a federal judge. The Wisconsin voter identification law was one of the strictest in the nation, but the state issued free identification cards to those without an acceptable ID card. In Wisconsin, if you do not drive, you do not have a driver's license – so they issue an identification card so everyone can have one. So how can that federal judge say that “poor” people who do not have cars or drivers license cannot vote, so that is unconstitutional? Democrats fight against identifying voters because of their prolific cheating that has been going on for decades – because their socialist agenda politics cannot stand on its own.
I rest my case. We the People need to clean out Congress this election year and ensure that constitutional candidates are selected in the PRIMARY elections in 2016; ignoring the manipulative media. Maybe the media is a good litmus test: if they try to ignore or demean a candidate, like Ron Paul; then the People can be pretty sure that person is the candidate who will put words into action.
Ronald Reagan was right: Government IS the problem. Too much government, that is.
It is of great importance to set a resolution, not to be shaken, never to tell an untruth. There is no vice so mean, so pitiful, so contemptible; and he who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world’s believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good disposition. –Thomas Jefferson (1785)
