In the News: Firearm Legislation, Politics, and Living with Wolves

Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) introduced S. 263 and Representative Bob Gibbs (R-Ohio) introduced H.R. 578 to protect the rights of gun owners on lands owned or managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
In May of 2009, legislation passed that reduced restrictions concerning possession of firearms for self-defense in National Parks and Wildlife Refuge lands. The legislation instituted the rules that federal lands must incorporate the laws of the state where the lands are located. Unfortunately, it did not include millions of acres of recreational land managed by the Corps, which owns or manages 11.7 million acres that include 400 lakes and rivers, 90,000 campsites, and 4,000 miles of trails. The Corps policy forbade visitors to the Corps managed lands to lawfully possess a firearm while on Corps land.
The NRA supports S. 263 and H.R. 578 and extends appreciation to Senator Crapo and Rep. Gibbs for their support of the 2nd Amendment and the right of self-defense.

Judicial Watch, last week, and Legal Insurrection made headlines about the non-prosecution of David Gregory of NBC. The Office of the Attorney General announced that: Prosecution would not promote public safety in the District of Columbia.
It was all about Gregory displaying a 30-round magazine for an AR-15 rifle on an edition of Meet the Press and NBC allowing it to be displayed defying the New York state ban on possession of said magazines, which includes the Washington DC ban. The DC police warned that it was a “misdemeanor” and told NBC to use pictures instead. NBC ignored the warning.
It appears that politicians are not the only ones who consider themselves above the law, the media does also.NRA reported that they agree that Gregory did not pose a threat to public peace or order by displaying the magazine during his cheap media stunt.
Yet neither do any other of the peaceable Americans who possess and use these magazine for legitimate purposes and who officials of D.C. are all too eager to smear and prosecute as violent criminals. Gregory’s treatment by then-D.C. Attorney General Irvin Nathan reveals something important about both men and how they exercised their professional roles. As a law enforcement official, Nathan was willing to put politics above equal treatment under the law.

Will Bergdahl get what he deserves for his desertion? It is up to the honor of those who will serve in his court martial Kurt Schlicter wrote:
Bergdahl’s case demands action. If Bergdahl is a deserter, he must be held to account. The Army must ensure discipline or going forward there will be none. Cowardice, deceit and betrayal will replace personal courage, integrity and selfless service. The military would become the Democrat Party in camo – except military personnel earn their government checks.

Sharia Law Integrated into United Kingdom … British police are looking to for a man for making derogatory comments about Islam on a public bus, which is a public order offence.

Inequality, Robert SpencerI believe the biggest threat to western democracies today comes not only from Islam’s traditions of intolerance and political violence and anti-Western sentiment, but also from those apologists and pluralists, both religious and political, who are making every effort to convince us that this threat—these egregious customs—were never foreign to our North American traditions of tolerance and rule of law; as though Islam, with its ever-present political and religious maelstroms, is applicable to our democratic way of life. … To equate Islam with Judaism or Christianity, therefore, is the worst form of inequality. More than that, it is grossly imprudent. We are condoning an aggressively cruel, and willfully shameless, ideology whose essential goals are entirely imperialistic, for territorial gain and for religious preponderance. Who doesn’t see this is neither blind nor foolish, but probably complicit in this aggression.
Obama like other national leaders in Europe are wallowed in self-denial when they refuse to accept that terrorism is just a tactic for a religious institution that utilizes a doctrine, Islamic Jihad, to provide a reason (in their medieval minds) to justify their genocidal actions and policy of hate, racism, and evil. It is not that they consider Islam Jihadists a threat to all free nations and can be justly compared to the ideologies of Adolf Hitler with religious back drop as an added tactic; but because they are fearful and believe that bullies can be stopped through appeasement and compliance. Frankly, they are people who cannot fathom reality. The story of US Army Bergdahl is tied into our leadership's refusal to call what things are and not comply with political correctness. The deserter, as we can see from interviews with parents, specifically the father, why their son would volunteer to enlist into the US Army to fight Islamic Nazi and then take the side of the enemy, professing a 'moral obligation'. Tell that to the parents of two Japanese citizens, and others, who were beheaded by the 'religion of peace'.

Wyoming House Bill HB 114 passed committee and sent to House for vote. It seeks to restore trained, law-abiding concealed carry permit holders' constitutional rights to possess a firearm for self-defense on nearly all state-owned property. This legislation will explicitly recognize the right of an individual who possesses a valid concealed carry permit issued by the state of Wyoming to lawfully carry a concealed weapon in the following locations: (1) any meeting of a governmental entity; (2) any public K-12 school; and (3) on the campus of any public college or university.

Interstate Transportation of Firearms … Representative Morgan Griffith (R-VA) introduced H.R. 131, a bill that addresses the interstate transportation of firearms and ammunition for law-abiding citizens. Currently federal law provides the right of law-abiding persons to transport firearms between two locations where they have a legal right to possess and carry them – regardless of state or local laws that would otherwise apply. H.R. 131 ensures the law is administered as Congress intended 25 years ago. It expands the protection to travelers that include staying in temporary lodging overnight, stopping food, fuel, vehicle maintenance, an emergency, medical treatment, and any other activity incidental to the trip. … The NRA fully supports H.R. 131 and appreciates Rep. Griffith’s leadership on this important issue.

CNS News … Why confirm an Attorney General who is going to execute an unconstitutional policy? Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) stated that President Obama's executive action plan for illegal immigrants was unconstitutional and therefore Congress must not confirm Obama's attorney general nominee who is committed to executing that “illegal and unconstitutional” policy. … At the Capitol on Thursday, CNSNews.com asked Sessions if illegal aliens have a right work in the U.S.--a claim attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch had made the day before in her confirmation hearing in response to a question from Sessions.
Sessions is also fighting to block Rep. McCaul's border bill. Obama's immigration policy has increased crime and encouraged more illegal immigration. Apparently Obama's appointee, like predecessor, ignores fact that crime has risen in the US because of illegal aliens.
Obama's government education policy is just as pathetic and damaging. Star Parker wrote:
Senators Mike Lee of Utah and Ted Cruz of Texas and Congressman Luke Messer of Indiana have introduced a bill that could produce positive, badly needed change in American K-12 education. The bill allows for Title 1 education funds “to follow low-income students to any public or private school of their choice.” The bottom line is that with all the howling from those on the left about income gaps in America, those gaps are likely to just get worse and more persistent as increasing percentages of low-income minority students are trapped in government and union controlled public schools, that those on the left want, and higher income white students escape into better neighborhoods and to private schools. ... Freedom is the best help government can provide to low-income parents.
We are talking about a US president who thinks that George Washington lived in the White House.

Harry Reid is ShamelessThe man's an established liar, a bizarre obsessive, a remorseless slanderer -- but you already knew that. He's also, unsurprisingly, an exquisite hack. Ever since voters demoted Prince Harry in November, his views on various Senate protocols and precedents have undergone a remarkable and dramatic evolution. He who grinningly nuked filibuster rules in 2013 has suddenly mustered strange new respect for the practice.

Romney Not Running for PresidentMitt Romney announced Friday morning that he will not run for president in 2016.

As record low temperatures and devastating blizzards hit the US, morons on the media are still reporting that the winter of 2014-2015 is the warmest! Jeff Jacoby wrote:
Unless you've spent the last few weeks in solitary meditation on a remote island, you couldn't miss the wave ofmedia stories breathlessly proclaiming that 2014 was the hottest year in recorded history. As usual, the coverage was laced with alarm about the menace posed by climate change, and with disapproval of skeptics who decline to join in the general panic. ... All of which reasonably leads to the conclusion not that the planet has been relentlessly warming, but that the warming trend that peaked at the end of the 1990s has neither resumed nor reversed. ... That hiatus poses something of an inconvenient truth to those who believe that anthropogenic carbon-dioxide is the key driver of climate change, since CO2 emissions have continued without letup. ... In fact, the very idea of a "global temperature" is hard to make sense of. How can an entire planet, with its multifarious systems, be said to have a temperature, or even an average temperature?  ... Temperatures on the earth are in constant flux. They change with latitude, with time of day, with season, with weather; they vary from ocean depths to atmospheric heights, from the equator to the poles. ... As headline fodder, "warmest year ever" may be irresistible. As an unassailable reality on which critical public policy questions should turn? Be skeptical.
