Getting a Handle on Crime and Securing Our Borders

Before I get to the crime part of this article, I would like to quote what President Obama recently stated about the political opposition and generally, any individual or organization that demands a limited government in accordance with the US Constitution …
We’ve got one party in Congress right now that has been captured by ideologues whose core premise is “no” — who fundamentally believe that the problem is government; who don’t believe that we as a community, as a country have any serious role to play in giving people a hand up; whose budget reflects an interest in cutting back commitments to the most vulnerable and freeing the most powerful from any constraints; and whose principal focus at any given point in the day is trying to figure out how can they make people sufficiently cynical, sufficiently angry, sufficiently suspicious that they can win the next election. I hate to be blunt about it, but that’s the play. And, by the way, when I say a party has been captured, it’s because I actually want an effective, serious, patriotic, capable, sober-minded Republican Party. And we’ve had that in the past.
Of course, his party is always correct, et cetera.
Now about crime in America …
At Gun Digest, it has been revealed that smaller revolvers are making a come back in the firearm market, mostly purchased by women who have conceal carry permits. It might be the economy as well, when a S&W model 642 retails for about $389. Understandable because revolvers are easier to operate and maintain. I have always liked revolvers, even the old single-action models, especially the break-open models of Schofield and S&W in .38 Special or the Remington Army in .45-Colt. Revolvers are especially popular when a laser sight is installed, especially the laser-grip styles. With the increase of crime committed by illegal aliens, it is no wonder people want to be armed.
The fence along the border remains unfinished, despite being approved during the GW Bush administration; and out border remains unsecured. Indeed, moron senator, McCain, was visiting the border and while he was standing there being briefed, an illegal jumped the fence in front of them. Obama administration has been no help, as with other presidents, releasing criminals that are illegal aliens back into American communities without sending them back over the border.
Townhall reported:
The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement released nearly 40,000 convicted criminal aliens who were awaiting the outcome of deportation proceedings while in detention, according to a recent report by the Center for Immigration Studies. The criminals’ infractions include convictions for drunk or drugged driving, aggravated assault, flight escape, dangerous drugs, vehicle theft, kidnapping, sexual assault, and homicide. Overall, the 36,007 criminals released in 2013 had about 88,000 total convictions.
Every crime committed by an illegal alien is the fault of the federal government because they refuse to enforce immigration laws and secure the border so invaders cannot cross. There is no control, therefore, no one knows WHO is crossing. A person just wanting a better life – or a member of the vicious Mexican cartel or a criminally insane person who likes raping women and girls. The article posts seven horrible crimes committed by those that cross our border illegally, and it certainly is not the complete list. Pay attention to the story of a Mexican national who had been deported NINE times.
The federal government has the job of national security. Maybe if the Feds were not so busy trying to run our lives and encroach upon state rights, they could find the time to perform those tasks prescribed in the Constitution.
Meanwhile, eccentric millionaire, Michael Bloomberg, has announced he will be putting $50 million into a new gun “safety” program and campaign. It is a move to counter the NRA movement toward protecting the Second Amendment.
Oh, that terrible NRA. Here is the mission statement of NRA:
Established in 1990, The NRA Foundation, Inc. ("NRA Foundation") is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that raises tax-deductible contributions in support of a wide range of firearm-related public interest activities of the National Rifle Association of America and other organizations that defend and foster the Second Amendment rights of all law-abiding Americans. These activities are designed to promote firearms and hunting safety, to enhance marksmanship skills of those participating in the shooting sports, and to educate the general public about firearms in their historic, technological, and artistic context. Funds granted by The NRA Foundation benefit a variety of constituencies throughout the United States, including children, youth, women, individuals with physical disabilities, gun collectors, law enforcement officers, hunters, and competitive shooters.
If he was concerned about “gun safety” - why doesn't he put that $50 million into an organization that already promotes it. It is because Bloomberg and those like him do not want just gun safety, they want counter the Second Amendment. They want Americans to only have single-shot hunting rifles or shotguns – nothing else.
According to Steven Rosenfeld, the NRA did not always see the government as the enemy. What is his logic?
In the 1920s and 1930s, the NRA’s leaders helped write and lobby for the first federal gun control laws—the very kinds of laws that the modern NRA labels as the height of tryranny [SIC]. The 18th Amendment outlawing achohol [SIC] became law in 1920 and was soon followed by the emergence of big city gangsters who outgunned the police by killing rivals with sawed-off shotguns and machine guns—today called automatic weapons.
Other than the fact that Rosenfeld was probably educated in some progressive educational institution that promoted Common Core teaching - cannot spell, he is citing something that is clear to someone who has common sense; more important than common core.
NRA has no problem with people owning automatic weapons, they just do not want them controlled. Anyone who can pass the background check and willing to fork out $200 and get fingerprinted can have an automatic weapon registered in their name for personal use and restrictions. But do we really need, as a public sales item, automatic weapons? Should we legalize hand grenades and rocket launchers? NRA is, of course, against such things for a common sense reason.
And, lets face it, to cite the NRA President of 1920 as being against keeping and bearing arms – what does that have to do with today's issues?
It is a movement against NRA, just as the Tea Party movement; trying every means to show them up as radicals and racists – but failing to hit the mark when it comes to facts. The government IS more intrusive and socialist than it was in the 1920s, Mr. AlterNet. The NRA has also been accused of racism, which is just as preposterous as accusing the Tea Party of that – it's prominent members being black. Let's face it, if you are for legal immigration, securing our borders, enforcing constitutional law, et cetera – your (a) “anti-government”, (b) racist, and/or (c) “radical”. But they do not follow the program of socialism or socialists nor follow any platform of the Marxist bible: Communist Manifesto.
AlterNet  must have got the idea for that article from The Daily Beast, (or vice versa) that is certainly the beast of the progressive socialist movement. And I guess Karen Bleier has problems with spelling as well. (“alchohol”). Someone should buy her a word processor with spell check. She also points out the “lost” history of the Republican Party; disregarding the racist and corrupt history of the Democrat Party, which she uses the modern name “Democratic” - when it should be changed to the Democratic-Socalist Party. Maybe that is why they added “ic” to the end of “Democrat” because that is their next step in matching the name with their political venue-agenda.
Read the true history of how the NRA changed from the “old guard” to the pro Second Amendment beginning in 1977 at Washington Post.
Also, at American Rifleman (NRA magazine), read stories you will not see mainstream political media not covering or check out the Detroit Grandma who even after being shot (three times) by thugs blasted them with her concealed firearm.
We need to quit trying to disarm lawful citizens and start taking our national security more seriously and get rid of the criminal invaders that threaten our society, our nation.
