Constitutional Sheriff David Clarke Wins 2014 Primary Election

One of the great victories of constitutionalists across America this election year is the primary election of Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. - defeating the Michael Bloomberg anti-firearm and anti-Second Amendment organizations backed by his wealth. It is expected that Sheriff Clarke will also win the November election, reelected as Milwaukee County Sheriff.
Sheriff David Clarke is a constitutional sheriff, which means he honors his oath of office and encourages citizens to defend themselves and their homes from criminal predators, as well as communities according to the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
It is also a win for the National Rifle Association (NRA) for whom he has been a guest speaker for the right to carry and use firearms in defense.

As Sheriff Clarke announced on public radio in 2013:
With officers laid-off and furloughed, simply calling 9-1-1 and waiting is no longer best option. You can beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under your bed, or you can fight back; but are you prepared? Consider taking a certified safety course in handling a firearm so you can defend yourself until we get there. You have a duty to protect yourself and your family. We're partners now.
Indeed, country sheriffs and city law enforcement should always be in partnership with citizenry; a two-way cooperation.
Wisconsin's Right-to-Carry legislation was enacted in 2011, when Sheriff Clarke stated:
Armed criminals are being put back on the street by a soft-on-crime court system even before the ink dries on police reports. Are you prepared to handle a life or death threat? Wisconsin's Personal Protection Act now gives you the same advantage that I have. Now it's the crook who has to wonder what you might do.
Sheriff Clarke's pro-defense messages got him national attention, appearing on Fox News and CNN, and profiled in the NRA America's First Freedom magazine, and as aforementioned a speaker at the 2014 NRA Annual Meeting.
It was a tough political fight with the Milwaukee anti-gun mayor, Tom Barrett, who is a member of the Bloomberg Mayors Against Illegal Guns (a name not representing its true purpose) and a wealthy Milwaukee County executive. Both are opposed to Right-to-Carry and want all semi-automatic weapons banned. It is reported that Bloomberg spent at least $400,000 toward the defeat of Sheriff Clarke's reelection campaign. Sheriff Clarke commented:
I trust the voters. The voters can't be bought.
It is a testament that it is We the People who ensure true reformation takes place because politicians will not do it on their own. It also is an emphasis on the fact that citizens have a duty to be responsible voters and that their voice can be heard if they unite as Americans.
